Terms of Service

Plain-language terms that govern our work together. Last updated .

Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of patchworksites.com and any web design or development services provided by Patchwork Sites, a brand operated by Virdis.io (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By booking a call, signing a project proposal, or making a payment, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

We've written these in plain language on purpose. If something is unclear, just ask — we'd rather talk it through than have anyone confused about what they're signing up for.

Our Services

Patchwork Sites designs and builds custom websites for local small businesses. Every project is scoped individually — we don't use templates or drag-and-drop builders.

The specific deliverables, timeline, and price for your project are defined in a written proposal or statement of work sent to you before work begins. Those project-specific details take precedence over anything general stated here.

What's included in every project

  • Custom Next.js website built to your approved scope
  • Mobile-responsive design across all screen sizes
  • One round of revisions after your initial review
  • Deployment to Vercel with a working production URL
  • 30-day post-launch support for bugs and minor fixes

What's not included (unless scoped)

  • Ongoing hosting fees (billed directly by Vercel)
  • Domain registration or DNS management
  • Content creation, copywriting, or photography
  • Revisions outside the agreed scope
  • SEO campaigns or paid advertising

Payment & Refunds

All prices are flat-rate and quoted in USD. You'll know the exact cost before any work begins — no hourly billing, no surprise invoices.

  • Deposit — A 50% deposit is due before work begins. This reserves your spot in our schedule and covers initial design work.
  • Final payment — The remaining 50% is due upon site launch or delivery of final files, whichever comes first.
  • Add-ons — Any work added to the original scope is quoted and approved separately before it begins.

Refunds. The deposit is non-refundable once design work has started, as it compensates for time and resources already spent. If we haven't started work yet, we'll refund your deposit in full. If you are unsatisfied with the final result, contact us — we'll work to make it right before discussing any refund.

Invoices unpaid 14 days past the due date may result in work being paused until payment is received.

Client Responsibilities

A successful project is a two-way street. To keep things on track, we ask that you:

  • Provide content on time — text, images, logos, and any other materials needed for the site. Delays in content delivery may push back your launch date.
  • Give clear feedback — specific, consolidated notes during revision rounds help us make fast, accurate changes.
  • Respond within 5 business days — if we're waiting on approval or content and don't hear back, we may pause the project.
  • Own your content — you confirm that any content you provide (text, images, logos) is either owned by you or properly licensed for use on your website.

We are not liable for any copyright issues arising from content you provide to us.

Intellectual Property

Once final payment is received, you own the finished website and all custom design assets created specifically for your project.

We retain the right to display the completed project in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing before the project begins.

Third-party tools, libraries, and frameworks used to build your site (Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, etc.) remain subject to their respective open-source licenses. We don't transfer ownership of those — but you're free to use them as part of your site.

Warranty & Support

Every project includes a 30-day post-launch warranty. During this period, we'll fix any bugs or issues that arise from our work at no additional cost.

The warranty does not cover issues caused by:

  • Changes made to the site by you or a third party after launch
  • Third-party service outages (hosting, DNS, integrations)
  • New feature requests or scope additions

After the 30-day period, ongoing support and changes are available on a project-by-project basis, quoted separately.

Limitation of Liability

We build websites with care and professionalism, but we can't guarantee specific business outcomes — like increased sales, search rankings, or traffic.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the project in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We are not responsible for downtime, data loss, or issues caused by third-party services (Vercel, Cal.com, domain registrars, etc.).

Termination

Either party may end a project engagement with written notice (email is fine).

If you cancel: You owe payment for all work completed up to the cancellation date. The deposit is non-refundable. If the project is more than 50% complete, the full project price may be owed.

If we cancel: We'll refund any payment for work not yet completed and deliver all files produced to date.

We reserve the right to decline or terminate projects at our discretion — including if a project requires illegal content or violates our values.
